If you would like your child to be considered for a place at any of the selective grammar schools in Birmingham, Shropshire, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Warwickshire, they must sit the entrance test at a test centre.

N.B. Please note that a boarding application for Haberdasher's Adams is not a substitute for a day place application, and successful boarding places are not transferable to a day place. If you are applying for a boarding place there will be an interview process plus a fee. If you are successful then wish to withdraw the application then the fee is non-refundable.

How It Works

Your child will only need to sit one test to be eligible to apply for any of the West Midlands Grammar Schools.

Upon entering your home postcode and your child’s sex, this portal will direct you to the relevant website to register for the entrance test. The school where your child sits the test may not necessarily be the school(s) you wish to apply for – this is simply a venue used to administrate the test. The same test is used for entry to all of the West Midlands Grammar Schools.
